Triton - Looks Good, Works Harder

Just like the mythological deity Triton ruled the seas, so does the Mitsubishi Triton rule the road. Possessing power and durability like no other utility vehicle, Triton is packed with features that will make you feel like a god on or off the road.
Harbouring the latest in diesel engine technology with the option of 2.5 litre or 3.2 litre common rail, the Triton means business. With the turbo diesel engine capable of generating impressive amounts of power and speed, this is a vehicle that suits all towing and carrying needs.
Since life is all about choices, the Mitsubishi Triton presents motorists with the option of having a petrol or turbo charged diesel engine. Not only that, you are also presented with a choice of transmission systems that include smooth shifting 5 speed manual gearbox and a responsive 4 gear automatic.
Easy Select 4WD is available and uses 3 transfer modes to deliver high speed driving comfort and and superior traction an all surfaces. When added traction is required, the free wheeling front differential enables switching from 2WD to 4WD on the fly at speeds of up to 100km/h. Conquering any terrain is made simple with Triton’s Easy Select 4WD offering of a low-range 4WD mode.
Negotiating low traction surfaces like sand and snow covered areas is made easy with the aid of the Triton’s optional Rear Differential Lock. By locking the rear differential, both rear wheels have an equal amount of torque split, regardless of whether each of the wheels has traction. By doing this, torque is not transferred to the wheel that has the least traction, thus making traversing difficult terrain easy. The RDL option is easily engaged and disengaged via the switch mounted on the instrument panel.
The Triton’s exterior is certainly god-like in every respect. It features generous carrying capacity and an astounding 2500 kg towing capacity. With such power, towing equipment never has to be a strenuous experience ever again. Further exterior featured include fog lights that improve visibility and also add an essence of sophistication, as do the 16’’ inch alloy wheels. The alloy nudge bar that delivers a tough edge to the front whilst a lockable, hard Tonneau cover secures everything that you keep in the back.
With the exterior covered, the time to discuss the Triton’s interior has arrived. Just because the Triton is a hard working vehicle, it doesn’t mean that it can’t boast elegance. Featuring a sleek multi function display system that sports trip meter, speedometer, tachometer and fuel and water gauges, the spacious, quiet cabin of the Triton is all class. Its MP3 compatible premium stereo system ensures that it doesn’t have to be quiet all the time, while the leather steering wheel and gear knob add further stylish touches. The 8 way power driver’s seat allows for dual height adjustment that benefits from the extra head, shoulder and leg room that is available in this 5 adult capacity vehicle. Throw in power windows and Bluetooth technology, and what you have is a strong car with good looks all round.
When it comes to the Triton’s safety features, nothing has been overlooked. It features a Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution system, or RISE, that protects driver and passengers with the latest energy absorbing chassis design and technology. Should a collision ever occur, impact absorbing energy zones have been designed to both absorb and dissipate energy away from the passenger compartment, effectively cocooning and protecting passengers and drivers. Side impact bars accompany the RISE system to provide the highest possible level of structural safety. SRS airbags offer ultimate protection in the event of a frontal collision, and with driver and front passenger airbags, protection is further enhanced. Triton’s Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) works to modulate the rear braking pressure. Under light or no load conditions, the LSPV applies reduced braking pressure to the rear in order to prevent wheel lockup. If the load is heavy, the amount of braking to the rear is optimal, resulting in safer stopping distances and more control. Not one to rest on its laurels, Mitsubishi has added optional Anti-Lock Braking System that delivers lock-free braking power and control, helping you to steer safely around obstacles without losing traction.
Certainly a force to be reckoned with, the Mitsubishi Triton is definitely a modern day deity of the road. With smart looks, a plethora of safety features and technological attributes all at its disposal, getting around in this beast is no problem at all.
